When Life Began to Move Faster

When I was young, I was always looking forward to whatever came next.

I couldn’t wait to go to college, move to a new city, and finally have a place of my own. Back then, time seemed endless. Summers stretched on forever, and I had no reason to look back when there was still so much ahead of me.

Then I graduated, began building a life of my own, and everything seemed to speed up.

The long, carefree summers disappeared. The freedom I had dreamed about finally arrived—along with work, responsibilities, and bills that needed to be paid.

Life was still full of happiness, but it became busy. Joyful moments and difficult ones often passed before I had time to fully take them in. Little by little, the details began to fade.

Later, I met the person I would marry. I became a wife, and then a mother.

Life didn’t slow down, but it became filled with moments I never wanted to forget: my wedding day, the wonder of my first pregnancy, holding my baby for the first time, and all the small milestones that followed.

Some Memories Deserve More Than Storage

Like so many people, I tried to preserve everything through photographs and words.

But the photos slowly disappeared into crowded folders on a hard drive. My children’s drawings were carefully gathered and placed in a cabinet, rarely brought out again.

The memories were safely stored, but they were no longer part of our everyday lives.
